Yes Smiley and I think adsense is the norm nowadays....
Ironically, I think nowadays, website without those affiliate links looks less professional...although I  still think "less is more"!

I never have seen that it hurts to have them. I have them scattered
all over my site including my store. Some people say that the ads make
a site look more "professional". Whether that is true or not, I honestly
couldn't say though.
